Join natural products manufacturers, farmers, food safety advocates, political officials and others in a Rally for Real Food October 2, 2011 on the steps of the Texas state capital. Rally time is noon till 3:00 p.m. Included in those making remarks are Organic Connections publisher and president of Natural Vitality Ken Whitman. Organic Connections has featured a great deal of coverage of the GMO issue and Whitman has been outspoken in his blog about making an uninformed public part of the largest human biological experiment ever conducted.
Say NO to GMO
This rally is all about raising our voices against the pollution of our food supplies and seed with GMOs. We, like the organizers of this event, feel that every one has the Right 2 Know what is in our food and whether or not we are eating GMO engineered foods.
Federal agencies, FDA and USDA, have failed to protect the general public from the encroachment of GMO foods for a variety of reasons. It is time for us to fight back at the state level by getting measures passed to require labeling of GMO foods. This one step alone can begin to turn the tide. Research has shown that over 80 percent of consumers would not eat GMO foods if they had a choice.
The “Rally For Real Food” event supports the national Right2Know March, in which thousands will walk part, or all, of the 313 miles from New York to the White House from Oct. 1-16. While support for the Texas Oct. 2 “Rally For Real Food” event continues to grow, current speakers include: Robert Bard, a Jeffrey Smith Approved Non-GMO Speaker; Doug Foreman, Non-GMO Advocate & Beanitos CEO; Eric Herm, Austin Co-Op Radio; Ken Whitman, president of Natural Vitality; Neil Carman PhD, Lone Star Chapter of Sierra; Wheatsville Co-Op GM, Dan Gillotte; Sustainable Food Center Executive Director and Judith McGeary, Farm and Ranch Freedom Alliance.
You can help make real food happen, beginning in Texas on Sunday, October 2, 2011.
